About Us

We are a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, researchers and technical staff based at the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship (NCAS) at the Peter Doherty Institute in Melbourne. Our program is funded by the the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care. Our aim is to provide antimicrobial stewardship strategies across a range of settings including tertiary hospitals, rural and regional health care, aged care, general practice, and the animal sector. Work done by the NCAS will significantly inform policy and practice around antimicrobial prescribing in both humans and animals in Australia.
